Before NSIP, Mr. Bodendorf worked for several national/international IP law firms, such as Fish & Richardson P.C., Sughrue, Mion, Zinn, MacPeak & Seas, P.L.L.C, and Burns, Doane, Swecker & Mathis, LLP. Prior to entering law school, he was a patent examiner at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He also has been a guest lecturer at the University of Maryland Business School on Intellectual Property and High Tech Companies.
Mr. Bodendorf's practice emphasizes client counseling to develop intellectual property and to implement business strategies that fully harness a company's intellectual property including: IP valuation, patent prosecution, trademark registration, licensing, infringement/validity opinions, pre-litigation investigations, discovery, due diligence, and litigation support.
In addition, he has maintained close ties with personnel at all levels of the U.S. P.T.O. As a result, he is attuned to changing Patent Office policies and procedures and can obtain answers regarding how the Patent Office will implement and interpret new rules, and decide certain policy questions, in addition to guiding applications smoothly through the examination process.
