Mr. Miles’ practice includes all phases of patent preparation and procurement, primarily in the areas of electronics, software, electrical, and mechanical technologies. Before coming to NSIP, Mr. Miles worked as an in-house patent counsel for a non-profit research company and as a patent examiner at the USPTO.
Mr. Miles worked in the development of Application Specific Integrated Circuits as a logic designer, microcode developer, verification engineer and applications engineer for IBM, Advanced Micro Devices and Magma Design Automation from 1985 to 2001. After a patent was filed by IBM on his work on a configurable embedded co-processor and memory interface, Mr. Miles developed an interest in patent law.
